Alchemy Player Demo – Fantastic Free VST Synth

The Alchemy Player from Camel Audio, could very well be one of the best kept secrets in the audio production world.

I frequent music forums and production websites frequently, but do not find much mention of this completely free, fantastic sounding VST Instrument.

Since it has a large download size, you may wish to first hear some audio demonstrations of what the Alchemy Player sounds like for yourself. So, I’ve taken the time out to create a demo of just a selection of the 200 top quality sounds that come with this free virtual instrument.

The sounds in my alchemy player demo appear in this order:

“Dawn To a Sunless Sea”, “Hoffa Goes Saw”, “House Pike”, “Low Red Moon”, “Sequenced Square”, “Rain Lakota”, “Battlestar”, “Breakdown Boom”

There is no additional processing applied to the audio demo. This is how the instrument sounds without any manipulation. I didn’t even take time to create any intricate programming or sequencing, most of the demo is produced by pressing a single key and letting the sounds run their course.

You’ll hear a varied selection of sounds in this demo. Ranging from ambient soundscapes to arpeggiated techno sequences, and a dance riser to top it all off.

There is a degree of control offered over sounds in the Alchemy player, using X/Y pad style controllers and the modulation wheel to vary the sounds. In this demo, I didn’t go to those measures, so even the small selection of sounds that you will hear can be further altered in real time to create additional variations.

To hear it for yourself, to help decide whether its worth the download (you will find that it certainly is), hit the play button below.

Here are sound samples of the alchemy player demo:

If you’re convinced and wish to download the instrument for yourself, completely for free, here is a link to Camel Audio’s website where you can find it:

Audio Loop Reversed Sound Samples – Free

Hi all,

It’s been a while since my last blog entry.

But this free set of sound samples inspired me to get back onto the blog to share this find with the internet.

VSTi creator Outpost have released a set of loops which can be downloaded for free. These are created with their Reverse sound virtual instrument REV.

I’ve included a quick audio clip of one of the loops here so that you can get a taste and decide whether this is your thing and worth heading over to their site to download the full set.

best free piano vst

One of the best Piano VSTi’s I’ve ever used for (nearly) free!

There are a lot of piano sample libraries out there, costing several hundreds of pounds for multi-gigabyte libraries, some of which I already own.

Incredibly, the piano library I find myself calling up most in the Kontakt sample VST, is the “Soft Piano” instrument from Spitfire Labs.

In case you don’t know – Spitfire Audio produce some of the finest orchestral and natural instrument libraries available, usually priced at a premium for high quality instrumentation and audio perfection.

In addition to their regular retail offerings, they also offer some experimental sampled instruments via their Spitfire Laboratories label, which can be purchased for a minimum charity donation of £2.00 to UNICEF.

In amongst other great sounds, you will find their Soft Piano – which sounds incredible. It’s a dark, moody, spooky piano sound, which you can hear used in my Crafting Mines track here.

To download the instrument for yourself, check out their special laboratories offerings by visiting their store here:
